Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources is partnering with an electrical and automation solutions integrator to place an Automation (Controls) Engineer.  As an automation engineer, you’ll be expected to become an expert in design, programming, troubleshooting, and project management.  You’ll work with other team members to take projects from concept to completion managing all aspects of the project.  Being able to keep projects within scope and cost, meeting deadlines and customer expectations will make you successful.

Essential Functions:
•    Create and maintain electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical
•    Create and maintain bills of materials
•    Generate purchase orders, track shipments, receive parts, and process returns
•    Communicate with electricians and other engineers, and attend regular design meetings
•    Interface with our customers to understand and outline their needs
•    Program/runoff PLCs and HMIs (primarily Allen Bradley)
•    Troubleshoot various equipment and machinery
•    Manage projects and manage project budgets

•    Must be able to work independently
•    Must be detail oriented and have strong communication skills
•    Must have experience programming PLCs/HMIs
•    Must be able to read/understand electrical schematics
•    Must have knowledge of industrial automation and machine wiring
•    Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
•    Experience with VFDs, servos, steppers, and machine vision a plus
•    Fanuc, SCARA, and other robotics training a plus
•    An understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics a plus

Required Education / Experience:
•    Minimum 2 Year Degree in Electrical Design or Associated Field, or equivalent work experience
•    2+ Years of experience in a similar role

Work Environment:
•    This position is a primarily 1st shift position but there is flexibility in terms of work schedule.
•    Willing to travel an average of 30% (domestic and international)
•    Willing to travel up to 2 weeks at a time on large projects
•    Willing to work up to 50 hours per week in-town / 60+ hours out-of-town
