  • Vocational training in technical field and/or equivalent experience in automotive BiW production / production equipment

Associates degree in technical field



  • Experience in analyzing root causes of BiW assembly deviations as well as in identifying and implementing effective countermeasure. Solid spatial ability.
  • Good communication, influencing, integrating and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to mentor / coach team members.
  • Strong ability to serve as informal leader in production and within pilot hall BIW team.
  • Good understanding of tolerance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of welding, hemming and gluing processes
  • Understanding of sheet metal stamping processes.
  • Solid understanding of technical drawings, specifications, functional dimensions, measurement reports etc.
  • Solid knowledge of MSOffice



Specialized skills, knowledge or certifications unique to this role



  • Independence / drive / motivation is expected as major parts of the typical work day will require self guided work in a team environment.
  • Technical apprenticeship or vocational training, i.e. as a measurement technician, line builder, robot programmer.
  • German language skills
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA V5)
  • Basic measurement skills (FaroArm, FaroLaserTracker, GOM, CMM, Inline).

Work flexibility (travel requirements, work schedule, etc.)


  • Flexibility in terms of business travel (nationally and internationally)
  • Overtime and weekend work is expected, as is work on off-shifts / rotating shifts
  • Mid- to long- terms stays abroad are possible (Germany or other countries)



Role summary

Analyzing all production issues within the area of responsibility and adjusting the in-house process.


Role responsibilities

Functional tasks:
(Only functional tasks, does not include personnel management activities)

  • Perform complex problem solving with respect to dimensional accuracy, fit and function in all manufacturing areas (body, paint and assembly).
  • Analyze BIW (Body in White) measurement reports (CMM, Inline/HGV, etc.)
  • Analyze BIW stamping part measurement reports.
  • Analyze root causes of problems through evaluation of measurement data and “hands on panel/fixture fit techniques.
  • Develop “countermeasures” to resolve problems.
  • Confirm and optimize operating processes.
  • Develop concepts to improve BIW tooling (dies and assembly fixtures) and inspection devices.
  • Initiate product and process changes.
  • Confirm stamping/assembly parts in regard to dimensional accuracy and consistency in the manufacturing process.
  • Follow up on quality issues.
  • Work with others to develop concepts for larger process tooling and equipment changes.
  • Composing product “re-work” instructions.
  • Develop and integrate special tools, models and templates.
  • Organize, participate and report in meetings.
  • Confirm results of internal and external changes.
