Job Description

The Chemicals and Commodities Sales Specialist holds the responsibility of owning and executing key aftersales projects with the focus of increasing domestic parts sales revenue and profit based on target set by leadership and Strategic goals.

The purpose of this role is to drive Chemical and Commodities Sales by creating and managing programs which generate sustainable demand over time.

Role Responsibilities

·       Strategic:

o   Align Chemical and Commodities programs with Audi of America/ After Sales/ Parts & Accessories/ Parts Strategies

o   Develop and implement a sustainable, holistic and structured strategy for each program applicable to developing chemical and commodity sales

o   Support the Parts and Accessories Sales Director and Parts Manager in establishing strategic direction for parts and accessories sales growth

·       Operational:

o   Plan, document, forecast and deliver accurate budgeting for all chemical and commodity programs

o   Organize and execute procurement process for all chemical and commodity related programs, renew/rebid programs

o   Produce and distribute dealer & field best practice communications

o   Set expectations and manage deliverables/Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with any vendors related to chemical and commodity sales programs

o   Liaise with Group/Audi Service and Technical teams to maintain fluid capacity charts and tables with focus on Genuine Parts requirements to servicer vehicles according to manufacturer standards

o   Maintain relationship with supporting chemical suppliers

o   Maintain chemical and commodity related content

o   Create field user guides for chemical and commodity program related processes (e.g. Oil specification chart, coolant compatibility charts, etc.)

o   Hold educational webinar sessions for internal and external business owners as needed

o   Support Aftersales team (regional and HQ) with all chemical and commodity promotional activity tracking. Create and distribute rules and launch communications to the field and dealer body

o   Collaborate with key stakeholders to integrate chemicals and commodity programs into the Parts Performance related bonus programs

o   Create and manage an Auto Order Replenishment program for Chemicals and Commodities

o   Create and manage an overarching Chemical & Commodities Sales Program and build a comprehensive product portfolio based on dynamic market needs

o   Coordinate all Chemical and Commodity product development/sourcing for full portfolio (i.e.: hardware, fluid etc..)

·       Additional Responsibilities:

o   Proactively work with program vendors to monitor sales and inventory data to audit and ensure accuracy

o   Define and develop short and long term goals to ensure programs align with dealer profitability and goals

o   Liase with key stakeholders to provide initial stocking levels for new dealer launch process and maintain programs during buy/sell process

o   Develop, with Audi Marketing & our marketing vendor, program specific marketing plans (e.g. overstock, commodity push)

o   Develop a strong collaboration and working relationship with regions, field personnel, supporting partners, national parts and service council teams

o   Develop and document operational contacts and collaborate with appropriate departments/individuals essential to chemical and commodity businesses (e.g. Service Operations, Warranty, Parts Programs etc.)

o   Report monthly to management on metrics of interest to inform aftersales business decisions and improve chemical and commodities business influencing factors with respective departments

o   Verify program data / sales figures & ensure alignment with internal system reported data.

o   Produce summarized reporting and sales tools customized for the field team.

o   Investigate dealer sales and billing discrepancies

o   Understand competitive landscape to define future sales opportunities

o   Support team to execute incentive programs


·       3-5 years of automotive industry experience, project management, logistics or sales, ideally in a similar role with a proven track record.

·       Bachelor’s Degree business and finance

·       Excellent working knowledge of automotive processes and warranty administration

·       General understanding of dealership wholesale and retail parts business

·       Customer relations management experience

·       Strong written and oral communication, analytical, quantitative, and qualitative skills desired

·       Ability to multi task and work to a deadline

·       Resource and program management

·       Parts, accessory, service marketing experience

·       Consulting related to Parts business in automotive industry

·       Extensive Audi product knowledge

·       Proficient in Audi Parts Policies and Procedures, and Terms of Trade

·       Proficient with all aspects of Dealer Parts department processes

·       Excellent communication, and presentation skills

·       Proficiency in Project planning and management

·       Able to concisely communicate opportunities as a subject matter expert to internal and external audiences

·       Customer Focus - Ability to understand the needs of dealer customer and retail customer in all activities

·       Systematic mindset – Self-sufficient and process oriented in problem resolution and troubleshooting

·       Integration – joining people, processes or systems, connecting the business across departments and stakeholders separated by organizational or geographical distance

·       Accountability - Convey the utmost professionalism to all audiences, including internal, field, executive, and dealer

·       Analytical thinking–Excels with abstract ideas, using creativity to streamline current processes and identify trends

·       Proficient in current Audi parts system applications Parts on Command, SAP and SAP Business Warehouse

·       Understanding of vehicle manufacturers parts or vehicle inventory and distribution networks

·       Knowledge of automotive dealer operations and most common DMS systems (Reynolds, CDK, DealerTrack etc.)

·       Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office

·       General Automotive technical aptitude

·       Sales experience (B2C, B2B)

·       Hazmat & Compliance related certifications

• Master’s degree preferred with a major in Financial or Business

Work Flexibility:

·       Frequent travel required throughout the region while maintaining response time and quality of work (20%-30%)

·       At times may be required to work during the weekend or on holidays

·       VA HQ preferred, others may be considered
