The Employer Branding Communications & Events Specialist is an integral member supporting the development & implementation of all internal and external communication activity for the company in strategic alignment with Car Software. Org brand goals, objectives & strategies. The position is responsible for oversight and content management of company’s communication channels including but not limited to website, company section on Up2Speed, meetup page and most importantly recruiting support and other social channels. Position will be responsible for coordination with Volkswagen Group of America corporate communications teams and others where appropriate. The position will also support basic functions including company events, facilities and operational needs as requested.
o Promote and protect the reputation of the company through management of external communication issues involving media and the public, in particular help drive recruitment excitement for roles.
o Manage Company Communication content channels- the website, company section on Up2Speed, etc. Creation of press releases, Newsroom content, social channels and more.
o Manage the strategic/creative development of media opportunities and events.
o Serve as the representative for media opportunities with corporate and external organizations.
o Assist with communications activities- event planning, department coordination, press release distribution, media outreach.
o Assist in social media activity on behalf of the Company.
o Assist in the event planning for press and public audiences.
o Participate in the creative & production process of all materials used internally for promotional activities.
o Lead programs of work to enable creation of department videos for website and other public facing platforms.
o Manage volunteer and local charitable giving programs and developing ideas to further the company’s reputation by promoting community sponsorships and giving.
· Administrative/In-House Functions:
o Facilitate approval of estimates through Finance.
o Support committee initiatives – i.e. diversity committee, green committee
o Assist in new employee onboarding experience.
o 1-3years of experience in social media marketing, community relations,
o 1-2 years project management experience, or related field.
o Bachelor’s Degree in, Communications, Marketing or English or equivalent experience.
o Expertise in communications, and a contemporary understanding of traditional, business, and social media.
o Proven capability to manage multiple projects.

o Knowledge & experience with community and media relations.
o The ability to use relevant and appropriate communication vehicles and coordinate effectively across teams to tell the VW story in the most complete, integrated, and compelling manner.

o Understanding of news media, on camera or on-the-record experience.
o Understanding of issues management strategic communications.
o Accomplished proof reading & copy management skills.
o Accomplished writing skills -- drafting press releases, speeches, op-eds, fact sheets and other public materials.
o Proven capability to work within larger organizational structure, both locally, regionally and nationally.
o Fluent in German and English

o Ability to work flexible schedule.
o Some travel is required (5-10%)
