Job Title:
Controls Engineer

Type of Position:
12-month contract position, likely for extension / going direct

Candidate Requirements:
This position is open to candidates who need certain kinds of sponsorship.  Besides US Citizens and Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders), candidates on CPT, OPT, H1B, and TN visas are permitted.  This position is NOT open to corp2corp, corp2hire, or w2 referral.

Job Location:
Rochester, NY

Compensation:
Negotiable (Generally in the $34/hr to $39/hr range) (overtime paid over 40 hours, off shift premiums paid)

Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major automotive manufacturer to place a Controls Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components
•    Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems, control panels, and associated equipment
•    Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment
•    Develop innovative solutions
•    Design and deploy intuitive user interface displays
•    Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment
•    Support and actively interact with manufacturing and quality groups
•    Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safety

Required Qualifications:
•    Interest in manufacturing and automation
•    Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
•    0-2 years of experience
•    Demonstrated desire to learn and grow in the career field
•    Self-starter; ability to initiate and complete projects with minimal direction
•    Strong interpersonal skills
•    Strong written and oral communication skills
•    Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills
•    Ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Position related experience in controls engineering
•    Ability to read and modify electrical prints
•    Basic understanding of Ethernet networks
•    Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation control platform experience
•    Relevant auto industry experience and/or high-volume manufacturing
•    Areas of expertise include: Manufacturing, Assembly Process, Welding, Molding, Fabrication
•    Machine vision experience – Cognex In-Sight
•    Robotic experience – Fanuc
•    Additional control platform experience: Siemens
•    SCADA experience – Microsoft SQL / Rockwell FactoryTalk Transaction Manager

Work Environment:
•    Largely 1st shift - may be assigned to other shifts as needed and after full training is accomplished
