HRU has teamed up with a global automotive company to find a cost analyst/purchaser for their Lafayette, IN location. This is a direct hire opportunity with advancement opportunity, great benefits and a place to grow.

Overview of Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage supplier accounts
  • Direct parts sourcing activity (strategy, analysis, negotiation; target and schedule achievement)
  • Direct parts cost reduction activity (strategy, analysis, negotiation; target and schedule achievement)
  • Analysis and negotiation of items affecting part price (engineering changes, supplier claims, etc.)
  • Daily activity and support for supplier quality, delivery, development, AP/AR, service parts
  • Critically examine results for accuracy and validity (sourcing, cost reduction, contract changes, etc.)
  • Continuous development of skills / improve performance and workmanship (analysis, negotiation, reporting)
  • Report and gain approval for activities to upper management (sourcing, cost reduction, contract changes, etc.)
  • Gain industry knowledge of responsible parts and overall automotive landscape
  • Support upper management as needed (special assignments)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High degree of self-motivation, leadership ability, strong work ethic, high degree of ownership
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and reporting skills
  • Education: Minimum of 4-year degree in Procurement, Supply-Chain, Manufacturing, Business, Engineering, Finance or related field of study
  • Experience: 1-2 years Purchasing in a manufacturing environment or related experience
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office

Desired Qualifications:

  • Automotive industry experience and parts cost-structure knowledge (base materials, processes, logistics, etc.)
  • Good understanding of Purchasing and product development process
  • Production process background/knowledge


*Candidates must have a Bachelors degree (preferably in Finance, Business, Management or Technical field). Candidates must be self-driven, motivated, have initiative, desire to learn and negotiation skills.
