Directs and coordinates activities of team members engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems at facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews maintenance work orders to determine work
priorities. Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools,
and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. Plans, organizes and assigns work to utilize
skills, ability and experience of available team members to obtain most
favorable repair costs, quality of workmanship and prevent interruption of

repair, fabrication, assembly and maintenance of machinery, equipment and
facility. Coordinates the activities of
outside contractors and other engaged in repairs, overhauling or rebuilding
equipment and machinery.
Coordinates activities of team members fabricating or
modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve

provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required

periodic inspections, repairs and lubrications.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for
conformance with operational standards.
Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required
Determines the skills and knowledge requirements for
the maintenance team. Identifies
personnel requirements in maintenance team. Analyzes training needs of each
team member. Develops and implements
appropriate training plans in maintenance team and coordinates training with
Training Team Resource Individuals.
Confers with management, engineering, and quality control
personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve
operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget. Responsible for purchasing of all maintenance tools and equipment. Also involved in all capital equipment purchase decisions.
Directly supervises team members in the Maintenance. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education. Five years experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be a team player continually demonstrating desired performance and discipline of the maintenance team. Must be capable of working with resource planning systems.
Needs to be able to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, schematics, technical journals, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals financial reports, and legal documents. Needs to be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from team members, contractors, suppliers or regulatory agencies. Needs to be able to effectively present information to members of management, team members, contractors and suppliers and format.
Needs to be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Needs to be able to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and concepts such as percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Needs to be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Needs to be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid Michigan Driver's license to be licensed as a qualified lift truck driver
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk throughout the plant facility. Team member is frequently required to communicate with team members and contractors. Inspecting machinery and equipment for repair and maintenance.
