Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major automobile manufacturer to place an HMI Prototyping & Requirements Engineer (Intelligent Vehicles).  We are looking for an individual with expert knowledge of automotive HMI (Human Machine Interface) designs.  This is a research and development position with our client’s Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) Group.

The focus of this position will be to serve as the primary conduit between the HMI and software engineering teams.  We are seeking an individual who has the ability to organize, document, prototype and then help move ideas into production.  You will also have the opportunity to benchmark the latest vehicles and attend industry events to gain insight into market trends.

The successful candidate should be capable of both working in a team environment and taking initiative when work needs to be done individually.  If you are excited about automotive industry, enjoy hands-on experiences and have a talent for explaining complicated systems then we would like to hear from you.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Working to create documentation of new HMI designs for transfer into production
•    Prototyping new HMI strategies both on bench and in vehicle.
•    Implementation of interactive HMI models.
•    Determine software requirements, current and future for HMI technologies.
•    Analyze data relating to Driver Information and Driver Assistance Functions.
•    Develop HMI specifications and design guidelines (requirements capture)
•    Assist in selecting software development tools.
•    Combine unstructured data from brainstorming meetings with customer research and data from usability clinics to refine the HMI system model and strategy
•    Interface with a variety of groups including systems engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering, software engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, and sales.
•    Support the development of test instrumentation or support hardware for product development purposes as well for mass production.
•    Participate in design and code reviews.

Experience / Education Required:
•    Advanced Degree.  Master’s degree is preferred. You must have demonstrable practical industry experience.
•    6 + years of experience in the related field.
•    Experience with Telematics and Head Unit design is a plus
•    Experience with DOORS
•    Knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, Network programming.
•    C/C++, Python, Java, C#, or similar programming experience.
•    Experience with National Instruments LabWindows.
•    Ability to implement new concepts using a rapid prototyping approach.
•    Experience with Visio and Visual Studio Software.
•    Microsoft Office.
