Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a global chemical company to place an Instrument / Electrical Planner.  People in this position will be a member of the TAR (Turnaround) Planning Team responsible for all instrument / low-voltage electrical (I/E) TAR planning.  Low voltage shall be considered 480V and below.  Planning responsibility may be required in all plant areas.  

Pre-SD (Shutdown) Activities:
•    Analyze detail planning information from previous TAR(s), as required
•    Keep track of all scope activities relating to I&E equipment (including mechanical activities as needed).
•    Coordinate planning tasks with other planning disciplines to ensure accuracy of the work.
•    Participate in the scope definition process, with a focus on I/E activities
•    Participate in Area scope collection process / preliminary challenges
•    Plan Jobs in the RMS planning tool according to guidelines set by lead planners, planning coordinators and TAR managers.
•    Maintain planning progress targets as defined by core team and support progress updates in progress tracking tool.
•    Maintain information
•    Coordinate and enter planning data into RMS for TAR capital project activities as defined by the TAR lead planning coordinator.  
•    Support mechanical planning by completing IE planning activities for any mechanical jobs as necessary.
•    Coordinates with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Operations Planners regarding scope development, scope additions, isolation, work planning, etc.
•    Support the development of the site/unit infrastructure and facilities (provide summary of needs to Logistics Coordinator, esp. long-lead deliveries)
•    Evaluate execution resource plan for I/E crafts
•    Ensure contractor understands the contents of I/E work packages.

SD (Shutdown) Activities:
•    Provide field supervision of I/E jobs, including safety and quality oversight
•    Provide daily progress updates for I/E jobs
•    Adjust I/E job sequence, resources, and priority to maintain cost and schedule goals (with approval of Area Team Leader)
•    Document daily findings and events (notes/photographs)
•    Ensure discovery work is addressed through the TAR-specific work process
•    Participate in PSSRs, safety/housekeeping walkthroughs, and Re-commissioning activities
•    Provide contractors with any additional documentation needed to conduct work properly

Post-SD (Shutdown) Activities:
•    Provide input to contractor evaluations
•    Participate in review meetings and creation of lessons learned
•    Ensure planning details, daily notes, photos, and other documentation are properly archived

Work Environment:
•    1st (day) shift position.
•    Position will be in our client’s plant facility
