IT Enterprise Architect

The IT Enterprise Architect position will translate business requirements into technology requirements for the company. In this role, the architect will work with the IT department and Cyber Security to set technology standards, investigate new technology available in the industry and help generate a technology road map.


Responsibilities

  • Translate strategic vision into technology initiatives
  • Evaluate new technologies for inclusion into the environment and the technology road map
  • Identification of IT improvement areas to reduce complexity and improve supportability
  • Alignment of technology with business goals
  • Work with stakeholders to identify enterprise level solutions
  • Promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flow
  • Ensure IT projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other
  • Develop policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise

 Position Requirements



Formal Education and Certification

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related is preferred
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies
  • 10 years of experience as a senior administrator or manager within at least one key technology discipline
  • 1 - 5 years of experience working in secondary technology discipline
  • General knowledge of remaining technology disciplines

              Technology disciplines:
                      - Network design and support
                      - UNIX, Linux and Windows server administration
                      - Middleware administration
                      - Database administration
                      - Storage and backup processes and procedures
                      - End user computing (desktops & laptops)
                      - Mobility technologies
                      - Enterprise applications
                      - Cyber security best practices
  • Experience working with outside vendors such as Dell, Microsoft, Oracle, EMC, etc.
  • Experience in the Defense Industry preferred, but not required
