HRU has teamed up with a world-class manufacturing company with worldwide markets, and a reputation for designing and building robust, rugged and reliable heavy equipment and is looking for a qualified Lead Electrical Engineer! Qualified candidates must have a BS in Electrical or Software Engineering, 7+ years of related experience as well as prior experience with electrical routing and controls. This position is scheduled to run as a 6-month contract to direct hire and pay will start at $45/hr.+ Open to US Citizens. 

Position Summary  

Electrical Systems Lead position works as part of  Electrical Systems Engineering team, ensuring that machine electrical control systems meet or exceed applicable standards and requirements for the target customers and markets.  The Electrical Systems Lead will supervise members of the Electrical Engineering team and work with the Hydraulic Systems Engineering team and various Product Engineers to develop and validate new and modified Control Systems on current production machines, equipment under development, and any custom built equipment that requires custom electric controls.  The Electrical Systems Engineering Lead, as part of the Product Engineering Teams, will ensure that the control systems on all new and modified products meet any and all requirements and standards. 


  • Own the Electrical Controls design and ensure that company's controls comply with regulations and standards as well as meeting or exceeding requirements as specified by our various customers. 

  • Recommend and make improvements to current Electrical Control Systems. 

  • Supervise Electrical Engineering colleagues in the design process.  Collaborate with other departments to provide a best in class quality product. 

  • Identify Electrical Controls related training opportunities and help develop training needed to improve the overall organization’s development.  

  • Create reports for management outlining current project status or current issues. 

  • Maintain a record of system changes as required. 

  • Contribute to controls related troubleshooting and problem solving.  

  • Identify cost saving opportunities for the product or office. 

  • Support other groups and departments as needed 

Essential Qualifications  

  • Prior experience in Electrical Controls system design. 

  • Prior experience in Electrical routing. 

  • Prior supervisory or management experience 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify applicable design requirements for a given application or product. 

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of employees and customers; 

  • Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills; 

  • Effectively establish understand and communicate with individuals at multiple levels of the organization including shop floor and office; 

  • Formal Problem Solving training/skills.

Ideal Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Software Engineering. 

  • 7+ years of Electrical Engineering related experience. 

  • Prior experience in software development and maintenance 

  • Experience working with SolidEdge/SolidWorks/JD Edwards/NX software package is desirable 

  • Project management experience, interfacing with multiple projects 

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft product suite. 

  • Qualified to work in the United States without sponsorship
