SUMMARY

Maintenance technician will participate in promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values. They will coordinate and/or perform preventive and corrective maintenance for the company to include production machines, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, as well as the maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Employee will perform all duties in a safe manner and will immediately report any safety concerns to their supervisor.  Employee will attend all safety training supplied by the employer.  Essential duties and responsibilities shall include the following: (additional duties may be assigned as necessary)

  • Establishes and maintains the preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment and implements indicators to ensure compliance
    • Plans and directs preventive maintenance activities and establishes maintenance priorities for keeping with production needs
      • Measurable: Assist in on time objective of 98%
    • Develop and achieve maintenance efficiencies in the areas of setup and run of equipment, downtime effective operations and cost factors
      • Measurable: Achieve a minimum of 98% overall efficiency each month
      • Measurable: Achieve standard uptime of 98% monthly
    • Develop and implement quality and safety strategies
      • Measurable: Achieve a monthly PM schedule
      • Measurable: Attends a minimum of one safety meeting monthly
      • Measurable: Safety Incident Reports to be completed by end of shift. Must investigate with corrective/preventable actions listed
    • Maintains documentation to show compliance with maintenance standards
  • Establishes and maintains corrective maintenance program that ensures prompt resolution of all open maintenance requests in the priority order established in the maintenance standard
    • Revises maintenance schedules and priorities with the plant manager as result of production, equipment failure or operating problems.
    • Performs corrective maintenance, per the maintenance priority standard, on all assigned equipment either personally or through vendor support
    • Coordinates maintenance activities with purchasing, production, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
      • Measurable: Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines in compliance with applicable purchasing standards
    • Confers with other team leaders to coordinate maintenance activities within individual departments
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
