Lead, directs and coordinates the activities of the operation functions to obtain optimum efficiency and effectiveness and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through team facilitators.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans, develops and implements organization policies and goals. Assists in the development of strategic business plans and corporate direction. Creates short and long range strategies to support changing customer needs while increasing shareholder value and team member support.
Coordinates activities of all manufacturing departments, to effect operational quality efficiency and economy. Manages manufacturing budget, reports on and determines corrective action required to realign actuals to budget and sales forecast. Deploys "lean manufacturing" principles to maximize production efficiencies and minimize production costs.
Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations. Converts sales forecast into operational plans, including analysis of manpower requirements and capital equipment acquisitions. Analyzes and approves department budget requests in which reductions can be made and allocates operating budget. Mange overall efficiency of manufacturing, establishing policies which aid facilitators in continuous improvement.
Directs department team facilitators outlining policy, program, or operations changes to be implemented. Develops policies to support corporate objectives and principles providing a safe, family friendly work environment for all team members.
Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.
Directs and leads organization in the absence of the president.
Manages team facilitators who supervise team members in the Manufacturing and Maintenance Departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these functions. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Member of the Leadership Team.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school education with at least 10 or more years related metal fabrication experience. Engineering or business undergraduate degree preferred.
