The primary responsibility of the Marketing Specialist, Ambassador Product Portfolio, is to support strategic planning and coordination of activities between Marketing, Product and a variety of other stakeholders, to include regular specific deliverables and meetings. 

Specifically this role will act as a product subject matter expert (SME), leading marketing launch and model year change coordination, analyze buyer data regularly to adjust model level strategies and messaging, identify key USP's by model and lead competitive analysis and claim reviews. 

Additionally, this role will support brand strategy development and management to ensure brand positioning is aligned with product strategies. 

Ultimately this role will support cross functional collaboration of product initiatives aligned to Brand pillars. 

This individual must coordinate with the other business managers within company and agencies to act as a marketing product strategy steward to integrate the communication and participate in strategy and planning meetings to optimize customer facing messaging across the products. 

3 - 5 years of total related experience required. Enthusiasm for strong brands desired 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree - Business Management, Marketing, Communications or related field.

Strong Microsoft Office skills (ppt. excel, Outlook) 
Creativity and ability to understand a variety of perspectives, including voice of customer 
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage timelines 
Research and analysis, including the ability to learn new research tools

Diplomacy and negotiation skills 

Required Skills: 

Ability to think strategically 
Go-to-market / product launch planning 
Strong presentation skills and comfortable voicing opinion in groups 
Outgoing with ability to develop cross functional relationships 

Desired Skills: 

Familiarity with syndicated research tools (JD Power, Nielsen, Martiz, etc.) 
Enthusiasm for automotive industry (product, technology, etc.) 
Design skills 

Role Responsibilities: 

Manage key launch milestones and track marketing activities for the Marketing team and ensure stakeholders are clear on go-to-market marketing planning and deliverables. 

Support development of strategic positioning and go to market strategies for both car-line specific and car-line related areas. 

Collaborate with Brand Manager and Director on role of products within long term strategic global brand positioning. 

Specific responsibility include: 

Act as primary strategic resource and liaison within Marketing for all “Ambassador” (Arteon, Golf Family, etc.) product related initiatives and updates. Includes developing expertise around target and current customer, purchase reasons, segment dynamics, future trends, etc. 

Support cross functional launch meetings, including weekly report updating stakeholders on all relevant product news to ensure constant alignment and consistent messaging / positioning. 

Develop and substantiate related competitive claims. 

Manage alignment and coordination of annual department budget with Brand Manager and Director. Responsibilities include tracking and reporting by discipline, identifying budgetary risks and areas for efficiency, monitoring spend vs. forecast, and managing monthly budget meeting and ad hoc tasks. 

Manage consolidation, creation, and distribution of Department’s Monthly Marketing News. 

Supporting responsibilities include: 

Support development, publication, and updates of annual “Brand Playbook”. The Playbook incorporates internal marketing positioning for all models and key product technologies. As new technologies and models are in development this role will work directly with the Product and Marketing teams on positioning, messaging territories and defining the target audience. 

Support analysis and interpretation of primary and secondary research (focus groups, syndicated studies, etc.) in order to clarify and strengthen current and future product and Brand positioning. 

Support Brand and Product target customer activities (demographics and psychographics). 

Support identification and development of branding opportunities to enhance current brand positioning (cross carline features, driver assistance technology, infotainment, powertrain, feature naming, etc.). 

Support discussions, research, and analysis around potential co-branding / partnerships. 

Support and collaborate with Brand Manager and Director on executive level presentations.
