Materials Analyst


The role of the Material Analyst is to provide data to help in the management of the SS&M business. Steel is the single biggest cost in the SS&M business as such we need to have full visibility into the total impact on the business. This includes our: projected steel consumption by specification; projected costs; projected recoveries; and volume of generated scrap. This data will require analysis and “what if” scenarios’ evaluation. The Material Analyst will build the required data base and generate much of the required analysis to support the business decisions.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Build Excel files. 
• Work with program teams and plants to build by part number a master steel data base:
o Part number
o Part description
o Gross weight
o Net weight
o Steel category
o Steel specification
o Planned volume
o Actual volume
• Understand Market Indexes
• Model OEM Indexing agreements
• Model cost impacts based on planed consumption
• Model scrap generation
• Data analysis

Qualifications:

• Four Year College Technical Degree (Finance or Business desired) 
• Foreign language skills highly desired.
• Good computer skills, i.e., MS Office, Excel, HFM, CI Trac.
• Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Occasional travel required
