The successful candidate will contribute to our exciting future in integrated electronic maintenance documentation in support of Strategic Systems Programs (SSP). There is an immediate need for an Engineering Technologist to write, review, edit, and process maintenance documentation material, and contribute to improved processes and product features. Recent Strategic Weapon System (SWS) MOD 6 maintenance experience and SWS technical documentation knowledge is required, as is a strong history in technical l proficiency and an attitude of innovation and professional excellence. This position supports the US Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs Technical Documentation program. Coordinates Technical Information Data Base submissions from various contractors and Navy organizations to provide an integrated electronic documentation media package to US Navy Fleet Trident submarines. Verifies completeness and accuracy of data and resolves discrepancies with document originators. Manages configuration management to ensure Fleet receives proper Strategic Weapon System (AWS/SWS) documentation. Develop responses to Fleet, contractor, and Navy program office documentation requests and issues. As a member of the SSP Electronic Documentation Technical Support Team, you will participate in the timely start and execution of the documentation change process, support the daily operations of the SP2015 Documentation Organization in the areas of Operational Documentation Reviews, Documentation Working Groups, and other tasks as required by the Customer. This role will allow the use of acquired skills and knowledge to take on the new challenge of coordinating SSP electronic document change requests and notices inputs between various contractors and Naval organizations to provide an integrated documentation package for TRIDENT II submarine use.
-Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance -Configuration management skills -Technical Writing skills/experience -Documentation change management skills -Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills -Ability to learn new skills involving evolving tasks
-Knowledge of Strategic Systems Programs Organization -Experience with Microsoft Office Suite -Experience with Adobe Acrobat
-Minimum 10 years of recent and related professional work experience -US Navy SSBN Strategic Weapon System (SWS)/SSGN Attack Weapon System (AWS) Missile Technician experience -Experience with SWS Trident SSBN)/SSGN Attack Weapon System (AWS) Program including: SWS Missile Launching System, SWS/AWS Missile Support Systems, SWS/AWS Fire Control System, SWS Targeting, SWS/AWS Standard Operating Procedures, SWS/AWS Preventive Maintenance Procedures, SWS/AWS Configuration Management
-Prefer a minimum of one-sea tour (SSBN/SSGN submarine) and one shore-based tour (weapons station, maintenance, or training facility)
-HS Graduate and/or US Navy Missile Technician School Graduate
