Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

·         Test and analyze motors to diagnose problems

·         Remanufacture motors while learning company products and analysis of technical situations while learning to operator as a Motor Repair Department team member

·         Actively participate in on the job training with supervisor and senior technicians

·         Keep test equipment in good working condition by performing maintenance

·         Complete estimates, remanufacturing and all associated required paperwork in a timely, accurate manner

·         Participate in annual physical overtime if required

Minimum Requirements

·         Education

o   High school or equivalent, plus two years trade school or equivalent experience preferred

·         Experience

o   Six months to one-year experience in machine shop environment with hands on experience repairing mechanical or electrical equipment

o   One-year electrical motor repair experience

·         Knowledge

o   Formal or on the job knowledge of mechanics (i.e., hand tools and their uses, rotating machinery theory, vibration analysis)

o   Formal or on the job knowledge of electrical theory (i.e., electric motors, generator theory, semiconductors)

o   Ability to operate lathe as required

o   Use of the following equipment: controls, drives, power supplies, hand tools, cleaning equipment, testing meters, overhead crane, Remay Demag machine, saw, drills, pumps and vacuums, oscilloscope, bearing press and dial indicator

·         Skills

o   Use of hand tools and diagnostic equipment

o   Basic computer skills including Word and Excel

o   Mechanical ability

o   Troubleshooting ability for electrical problems

·         Working Conditions

o   Requires physical mobility to lift, sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs or ladders using multiple body parts in a coordinated manner i.e., operating machinery

o   Required hand, foot and eye coordination, and manual/finger dexterity to operate a keyboard

·         May be required to lift parts up to 75 pounds, on occasion

o   Average sensory ability and mental ability required

o   Factory environment with variable temperatures, dirty work, use of solvent to clean motors parts

·         Personal Protective Equipment

o   Must wear steel toed safety shoes

o   Safety glasses as required

o   Weight belt as needed

o   Hearing protection as needed
