Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major automotive manufacturer to place a Production Supervisor (Casting, Molding, Melting).

Major Duties / Responsibilities:
•    This is a casting and machining plant. The operators are running die cast machines and CNC or machining cells.
•    2 openings are for a production supervisor and 2 positions are for melting supervisors
•    Production Supervisors are overseeing 15-20 direct report UAW operators
•    Must arrive at least 30 minutes before, 15-30 minutes after the shift ends. Looking at 9 to 9.5 hour days
•    Upon arrival for their shifts, candidates are responsible for gaining information on the previous shift that was running so they can properly set up the shift they are running. This might be the first 30-45 minutes of their shift.
•    From there this candidate would run a meeting with their staff for the start of the shift for 5 minutes.
•    Moving people as needed to keep the operation running, getting the necessary support so operators can get the support they need (maintenance, engineering, etc.)
•    End of day is spent preparing the information needed to pass along to the next shift leader that is taking over
•    Administering the national agreement contract, having their employees abide by work rules, employee safety, process improvements.

Qualifications:
•    Experience in supervising hourly employees in a manufacturing environment
•    Some degree of technical ability
•    Problem solving abilities
•    Strong communication skills
•    Technical abilities, candidates need to be able to operate a large piece of equipment that has 30-40 process parameters that are critical to making a good part. Must understand the complexity this.
•    Machining CNC experience, troubleshoot and diagnose on these machines if anything goes wrong. EX: If something goes wrong the candidate should be technically inclined enough to recognize if this is an electrical issue and call an electrician, etc.
•    Experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment that are running equipment
•    2+ years of industry experience
•    Castings experience preferred
•    Experience with Die Cast Machines preferred

Required Education / Training:
•    High school diploma OR GED required
•    Associate’s degree in a technical field (engineering, manufacturing) preferred

Workplace Environment:
•    This is a casting and machining plant. Not an assembly line process but it is very similar to assembly line work
•    Similar to an engine plant
•    24 hour manufacturing facility
•    Facility has 700 people total, about a million square feet.
•    Not an air-conditioned space, will get warm in the summer
•    Fast paced and cooperative teams working together to meet customer demands
•    Work Schedule - 3 shifts available:
o    1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
o    2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
o    3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
•    Must arrive at least 30 minutes before, 15-30 minutes after the shift ends. Looking at 9 to 9.5 hour days
