HRU has teamed up GM to find a Production Supervisor for it's Toledo Transmission Plant. This is a long-term contract position offering a full benefits package, competitive salary and longevity. If you have Automotive Supervisory experience and looking to work for a huge OEM, this position could be for you! All candidates must have the ability to work flexible shifts including first, second and third. Overtime is required.
Manufacturing Production Group Leader major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Knowledgeable of all jobs in work group
•Communicates between shifts and departments to implement best practices, resolve problems, and sustain consistent performance to objectives
•Evaluates group quality/performance levels and ensures the group meets continuous improvement requirements
•Maintains awareness to quality standards, communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality problems
•Drives first time quality in station
•Responds to suggestions promptly in writing
•Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union, and management
•Understands and consistently administers national and local agreements; participates in the local labor relations activities
•Executes safe work practices as the highest priority and achieves objectives for ergonomics, health/safety, and housekeeping
•Motivates, trains, and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
•Ensures employees perform job responsibilities and empowers them to continuously improve their work by managing and eliminating constraints
•Executes production schedule and product requirements
•Reduces waste by identifying and improving value-added tasks and eliminating non-value added tasks
•Controls costs and achieves productivity improvements
•Provides input to payroll and performs other administrative tasks as required
• Experience working with the timekeeping system, Cronos
• Working in an automotive manufacturing environment with an understand of UAW contracts
• Required: Associate’s degree, preferred: Bachelor's Degree
• Military experience (preferably leading teams)
• 3 years of experience as a production supervisor
