Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical and communications contractor (who partners with clients in many industries) to place a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Power Distribution).  This role will be responsible to provide electrical power distribution and system design supporting all company service offerings across all branch office locations (6 locations in all).  In addition to design, candidates will provide conceptual budgeting information and cost analysis assistance with existing projects as needed.  This role is a newly created role for the continued growth of the Design Build team.  We are looking for senior level candidates who are able to help mentor and train a less tenured team and support the Electrical Engineering Manager.  The ideal candidate will manage projects from $5-10 million in mainly the industrial space and some commercial.  

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Perform electrical system modeling for short circuit analysis, arc-flash hazard analysis and protective device coordination.
•    Medium and low voltage power distribution design for industrial and commercial markets including coordination of design with Utility Companies.
•    Become a resource and consultant for long range and strategic planning as it relates to BIM, Revit, and other design and engineering software systems, as requested.
•    Review designs for constructability issues.
•    Ensure all design/project information is documented, organized and accessible.
•    Supervise/Mentor assigned design/engineering personnel.
•    Support the Estimating and Operational Groups.
•    Complete electrical design on multi-discipline construction projects.
•    Develop long term relationships with (OAEGS) and can obtain design build work.
•    Represent the company and perform direct communication/coordination with customers.
•    Take ownership of your work and firmly adhere to the Engineers Code of Ethics.
•    Be an expert in the Electrical Construction field and become a market expert resource for the company’s customer(s), both internal and external.
•    Be a problem solver, provide solutions and support company throughout project life-cycle.

Required Qualifications:
•    Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
•    Ten or more years of relevant design and/or electrical engineering experience.
•    Ability to use Revit and/or AutoCad is required.
•    Professionally licensed in the State of Michigan is preferred.
•    Professional Engineer (PE) certification is HIGHLY desired.
•    Ability or desire to obtain additional state licenses as the business needs.
•    Strong interpersonal and technical skills.
•    Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices relating to appropriate discipline, including both design and construction
•    Coordination of design to include all required technology, communication, building management and security and audio-visual systems:
•    Ability to professionally communicate project needs to assigned staff in a highly stressed environment.
•    Proven ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced work environment.
