Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a leading supplier of combustion systems and related equipment to place a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist.


Preferred Knowledge / Characteristics:

  • Ability to analyze and solve technical issues by investigating root cause(s) for customer's/ vendor's concerns.
  • Experience with CMM Operation and methodologies (minimum one year experience preferred with a FARO arm or other conventional CMM).
  • Experience with quality hand tools including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, tape measures, etc.
  • Familiar with basic (AWS, ASME) welding code requirements CWI preferred
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • ERP experience
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical information
  • Driver's license with good driving record and passport with the ability to travel (domestic and international) approx. 0-25%
  • Knowledge of non-destructive and hydrostatic testing
  • Understanding of gaging techniques
  • Able to communicate effectively (written and oral)
  • Good organizational, attention to detail, and record keeping skills.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prioritizing the inspection, testing, and the release of incoming and outgoing parts and materials according to written procedures and specifications while documenting results according to the requirements of our Quality Management System. Conducts surveillance inspections as needed to ensure all customer specifications and quality standards are met by performing quality audits.
  • Investigates root cause(s) for customer and vendor quality concerns.
  • Qualify and evaluate vendors to assure quality processes will meet DSC requirements.
  • Maintains thorough quality documentation and records electronically
  • Communicates regularly with Quality Manager and other departments regarding quality issues and project status in a professional and timely manner.
  • Travels to domestic and foreign vendor sites and perform on-site inspections and communicate the progress/ issues throughout the project to both the supplier and DSC personnel in a timely manner.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, and tolerances and assist in gage/tooling designs as required, and provide support to our vendors that are manufacturing DSC products.
  • Supports, maintains, and initiates continuous and lean improvements
  • Evaluates vendor welding procedures and personnel qualifications to ensure AWS / ASME requirements are satisfied and maintained regularly
  • Maintains pattern database and manages the shipment and receipt of patterns with our external foundry vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned


Education Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in technical field AND 6 years experience in inspection OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field AND 2 years related experience OR
  • 8 years of related experience
  • CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) preferred


Workplace Environment:

  • 1st (day) shift
