Compensation:
$111K/yr to $172K/yr (depending on experience)

Job Description:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a global company focused on hardware and software financial processing solutions to place a Senior Solution Architect (Public Sector Team).  In this key role, you will be a senior level architect for the overall corporate product suite.  You will lead the definition and execution of an architectural vision that will enable the team to scale development across a multi-tier private/public cloud.  You will influence, train, and support other team members on code reviews, leveraging the proper architectural concepts, and stay abreast of key technologies in the software community (both open and closed source).  You will mentor other team members in the organization.  You will play a key role in evangelizing your architectural vision across the broader company and outside areas.  We’re looking for someone who values and cares about the big picture but can execute today.

Areas of Responsibility:
•    Understand business domain quickly and align architectural improvements with product roadmap.
•    Work on customization and personalization to existing products and create new software features based on customer requests
•    Work in an Agile environment and be up to date on the latest tools and technologies built for the cloud.
•    Design a horizontally scalable data layer for a SaaS product (i.e. RDBMS, Hadoop, etc).
•    Architect and champion next generation distributed queueing system (i.e. Kafka, 0MQ, etc)
•    Architect and build a cross data center worker system for offline processing.
•    Design next generation data analytics system with both real time and batch processing capabilities while ensuring low latency for hundreds of thousands of customers.

Basic Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or greater and 7+ years’ experience
•    A track record of architecting many solid yet extensible systems and products.
•    Strong mastery or deep understanding of data scalability strategies especially in a SaaS environment.
•    Experience leading design of multi-tenant schemas
•    Ability to work tightly with application development, architecture, infrastructure and engineering groups working on 2-6 week Sprint cycles
•    Natural at identifying, troubleshooting, and coming up with a plan of action in a quickly moving product organization
•    Experience with modern cloud technology stack components – i.e. Docker, Cassandra, Storm, Kafka, etc.
•    Must be able to code (Java, Go, C#, Ruby, Python, C++) and learn new languages/stacks quickly to bring the architecture to life
•    Past experience in a MS SQL, C#, ASP.NET environment helpful
•    Must have good verbal, written, and presentation skills
•    Must be able to travel when required; travel is not extensive

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Can-do, will-do attitude ready and will to do what is necessary to get the job done.
•    Experience architecting for both hardware and software based systems
•    Strong coding experience with Java, Go, Python or C#.
•    Experience architecting for multiple product lines sharing a common backend system
•    Experience crafting architectural roadmaps
•    Experience with documenting systems, physical, logical, and module level architectures.
