The worker will be bringing the vehicle expertise to the technical writer. This is a support role, not extremely hands-on, like the test technician roles. There will be some computer work involved. It is a hybrid role between truck and documentation, development and modification of work instructions. Working out the step by step process and assisting with the documentation. They are not looking for a technical writer. Will explain the how to's in mechanical terms.
Mechanical aptitude, common sense, good troubleshooting skills and computer knowledge.
Former military and/or auto shop experience is desired.
Will be using forklift from time to time.
FMTV - building a technical manual, taking work instructions of different trucks and using it to modify this vehicle's work instructions.
FHTV supporting government customer on this project. The worker will not "do the work", but will be in the wings waiting to assist if needed.
• Technical Diploma or its equivalent.
• Three (3) or more years of experience in engineering or in a related area.
• Knowledge of automotive and mechanical terms.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations and procedure manuals.
• Ability to adapt to a fast pace environment.
• Detail oriented.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
