Transmission Design Engineer

HRU has teamed up with a global manufacturing company to find an experience transmission designer that can do layout and detailing on transmission components. This is a long-term contract position with the opportunity to go direct and offers a very competitive pay rate and full benefits package. The ideal candidate MUST have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, at least 5 years of related experience and be a US Citizen. JOB DESCRIPTION

Create and modify UGNX Parametric 3D model/fully defined 2D drawings of moderate to high complexity parts and assemblies, working from sketches, layouts, notes or verbal instructions from engineers. Concept and create test fixture designs/assemblies utilized in performing full transmission level as well as transmission component level testing. Create and modify transmission test cell layouts of high complexity, working from minor sketches, notes or verbal instructions from engineers. Work with engineers to achieve complete design. Make complex mathematical calculations to define drawing dimensions and requirements. Use available standards and best practices to assure accuracy and completeness of the design specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Layout and detailing experience on transmission components or comparable products using UGNX
  • Experience in mechanical fixture design, preferably in cyclic testing areas
  • Thorough knowledge of mathematics including geometry and trigonometry and the ability to apply it to solve difficult or complex problems.
  • Thorough knowledge in applying and understanding GD&T
  • Proficient in working effectively in a SAP or a similar Product Data Management System
  • Due to this position potentially supporting programs for the US Department of Defense, US Citizenship is required
